Canada starts accepting PTE scores for Student Direct Stream applications

Canada started accepting Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic scores for Student Direct Stream (SDS) applications on August 10, 2023. This means that international students who are applying for a study permit to Canada through the SDS program can now use their PTE scores instead of IELTS or TOEFL scores.

The SDS program is a fast-track process for international students who are applying to study in Canada at a designated learning institution (DLI). Students who are eligible for the SDS program can apply for a study permit online and receive a decision within 20 business days.

The addition of PTE Academic to the list of accepted English language tests for the SDS program is a welcome development for international students. PTE Academic is a computer-based test that is known for its flexibility and convenience. Students can take the test at any Pearson VUE test center in the world, and they can receive their scores within five days.

The addition of PTE Academic to the list of accepted English language tests for the SDS program is also a sign of Canada's commitment to attracting international students. Canada is one of the most popular study destinations in the world, and the government is constantly looking for ways to make it easier for international students to study in Canada.

If you are an international student who is considering studying in Canada, you should consider taking the PTE Academic test. The PTE Academic test is a great option for students who are looking for a flexible and convenient English language test that is accepted by Canadian immigration authorities.
