UP Private Schools to Close on August 8 against Arrest of Azamgarh School Principal

All private schools in Uttar Pradesh will be closed on August 8, 2023, in protest against the arrest of a school principal in Azamgarh. The principal and a teacher of a private school were arrested after a 17-year-old girl student allegedly jumped off the third floor of the school building on Monday and died.

The Unaided Private School Association, Uttar Pradesh (UPSA) has called for a statewide closure of private schools on August 8 to protest against the arrest of the principal and teacher. The UPSA has alleged that the arrest of the principal and teacher is "unjust" and that they are being "framed" by the police.

The UPSA has also demanded a judicial inquiry into the death of the girl student. The association has said that it will not allow the schools to reopen until the judicial inquiry is completed and the guilty are brought to justice.

The decision to close the schools has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have supported the decision, saying that it is a way to show solidarity with the principal and teacher. Others have criticized the decision, saying that it is unfair to the students and that it will disrupt their education.

It remains to be seen how long the schools will remain closed. The UPSA has said that it will continue to protest until the judicial inquiry is completed and the guilty are brought to justice.
