The Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, Himanshu Sharma, has ordered the closure of all schools in the district today, July 25, 2023, due to heavy rains. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Kullu district, predicting heavy rains and thunderstorms. The alert is valid till today evening.
The Deputy Commissioner has also asked the district administration to be on alert and to take necessary measures to prevent any untoward incident. He has also asked the people to stay away from rivers and streams as the water levels may rise due to the rains.
