Schools In Maharashtra’s Raigad, Chandrapur To Remain Closed Today Due To Severe Rainfall


Schools and colleges in Raigad and Chandrapur districts of Maharashtra will remain closed today, July 20, 2023 due to heavy rainfall. The decision was taken by the respective district collectors to ensure the safety of students and staff.


The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Raigad and Palghar districts and an orange alert for Thane, Mumbai, and Ratnagiri. The red alert means that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected, while the orange alert means that heavy rainfall is expected.


The heavy rainfall has caused flooding in some parts of Raigad and Chandrapur districts. The authorities have advised people to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

The schools and colleges in these districts will remain closed until further notice.
